About the Furnishings
Our curated collection of furniture and accessories features timeless pieces that blend classic design with contemporary appeal, offering unique, stylish, functional additions to your home.
Each item is hand selected for its originality, quality, and aesthetic value to ensure our customers receive not only a part of history but also a statement piece that enhances their living space. We relish the distinctive characteristics and patina that tell the story of each piece. Therefore, we elect to not refinish certain items because we believe it could detract from it being a conversation piece.
With an eye for design and a passion for midcentury modern and Scandinavian aesthetics, The Scantique Home is for those seeking to infuse their homes with character, charm, and a touch of nostalgia.
Additionally, we have a small offering of modern items (items made in the 2010s and up) that we believe still respect artisanal design and construction and are a nod to the Mid-Century Modern and Danish Modern eras.
About the Founder
Rebecca’s journey began with a lifelong passion for design that sparked from architecture and automotive elements.
In a trade focused high school project—a student-designed house sparked a profound appreciation for thoughtful and innovative design. Inspired by this early experience, she pursued formal education in Interior Design, honing her skills and deepening her understanding of aesthetics and functionality. Over the past twelve years, she has immersed herself in the world of design, refining her expertise.
While she has worked in multifamily, restaurant, and light commercial, Rebecca has focused much of her career on residential design completing multimillion dollar renovations and additions in and around the nation's capital, hand selecting interior and exterior fixtures and finishes.
Awarded Thirty Under 30 in 2019 and a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer, Rebecca has made her mark completing a multitude of bespoke designs from Scandinavian, Moroccan inspired, Modern Traditional, to Mid-Century Modern. Ensuring every detail is intentionally drawn and selected, each homeowner has a space that is distinctly theirs.
Collecting various mid-century furniture pieces throughout the years, Rebecca has combined her personal passion with extensive professional experience, leading to the creation of The Scantique Home.
Some of Rebecca’s favorite iconic pieces are the Eames Lounge Chair, Noguchi Table, and Eero Saarinen Womb Chair.
When she is not immersed in designing, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and volunteering to serve the local community. Her favorite national park is Grand Tetons National Park and one of her most rewarding volunteer experiences was constructing wall sections for a family in need.
