Selecting a Showerhead
Share
There are so many options when it comes to showerheads, how does one choose?
Well, I am here to help you make the best decision for your everyday needs.
Here are some important factors to consider:
- What flow rate do you prefer? Flow rates are measured in Gallons Per Minute (also known as GPM).
- Low Flow Showerheads (1.5 - 2.0 GPM)
- Standard Flow Showerheads (2.5 GPM)
- High Flow Showerheads (3.0 - 5.0 GPM)
* Note: Some states require low flow showerheads by law (such as California).
- What functions do you need your showerhead to perform?
- Single-Function Showerhead
- Multi-Function Showerhead
- Built-In Handshower
Some additional thoughts:
- The larger the showerhead diameter, the more the water is distributed, which can create a lower pressure, depending on how the manufacturer designs the unit.
- There are some manufacturers that add air into their showerheads, allowing for lower water usage while delivering good water pressure.
